Topping-out ceremony: ITM Augsburg
The topping-out ceremony for the Institute for Theoretical Medicine (ITM) in Augsburg was celebrated yesterday. In addition to Prime Minister Dr. Markus Söder, the following persons were in attendance: Minister of Construction Christian Bernreiter, Minister of Science Markus Blume, Augsburg's Mayor Eva Weber and the President of the University of Augsburg, Prof. Dr. Sabine Doering-Manteuffel. The new institute was designed by BHBVT architects and will soon accommodate approximately 330 employees in addition to 350 students. Overhanging building spaces, full-storey beams over several floors, and the high requirements of the fair-faced concrete were noteable challenges in the structural engineering.
