The steel construction is dimensioned for the determining wind, snow and earthquake loads. A sports arena for about 3,000 spectators as well as a center court for the same number of spectators will be built next to the stadium on the peninsula as well. The load-bearing roof framework of the circular building spans 85 m and is formed by a framework grid of steel.

STADIUM TRABZON
NEW LAND FOR A FOOTBALL STADIUM AT THE BLACK SEA
A new sports facility was built on a peninsula artificially created in the Back Sea. The new 233 m x 201 m football stadium for the team of „Trabzonspor“ is at the focus here. The translucent shell is particularly distinctive which, especially at night, characterizes the extraordinary architecture of the stadium. The bracing construction developed for the stadium, for an audience in excess of 41,000, was built in modules. Despite the large area design, the folded roof leads to a high-performance bracing system so that the 46 m cantilever roof could be implemented without difficulty.
